Airport stupidity
When my sister gets confronted by a bee or any airborne insect threat, she immediately covers her ears to protect herself from the insect’s attack.
Do you think that’s funny? I sure do. I think that it’s hilarious. Its just as funny as the American mentality and its response to terrorist threats. Just as my sister burrows her fingers into her inner ear to protect herself from the bee, Americans concentrate all of their efforts in securing our airports whenever a terrorist so much as breathes in the direction of our country.
Why? When is the last time that an airplane was detonated due to a bomb in this country? I mean in real life, not in movies or television. Has it ever happened in U.S. history? We leave our entire country defenseless against terrorist attacks with a very short list of exceptions. Optimists will say that we don’t have the problem because our airport security works. but anyone with common sense can see that we’ve developed a warped set of instincts against terrorism and we don’t even know why we are reacting the way those instincts guide us.
Its like someone running into a snow storm naked and only protecting their hands with very thick gloves. When they feel it getting colder, they get thicker gloves. It makes very little sense to me.
